Thanks to the management of Ball Park Caravan Park, our Labour Day weekend was ruined. They chose to paint inside the unit we had booked twelve months ahead, with oil paint the night before we arrived. When we opened the door, the paint fumes accosted us. Complaints got us an air freshener and the advice to leave the door and windows open. “Nothing they could do” because everything was booked out. Personally, I think, the time to do nothing was the previous day, leaving the painting to when the unit was not booked. An allergic reaction to the fumes left me with headaches, stinging eyes, constant coughing and nausea. I spent the first night sleeping outside the unit on the balcony and the other two nights on the couch near the open door. Not even an insect screen, let alone a security door. I was too nauseous to participate in the festival we had come to attend. And for this we paid $450 dollars. Not impressed!
Ball Park Caravan Park has some interesting information on why Australia is called the land down under?
Australia is known as 'the land Down Under' for its position in the southern hemisphere. The discovery of Australia began when European explorers searched for land under the continent of Asia. Before Australia was discovered, it was known as Terra Australis Incognita the unknown southern land.
