A short walk from King Street, Newtown, the Imperial became famous when it was used as a backdrop for scenes in Priscilla Queen Of The Desert. It also featured in the Hugh Jackman film Erskineville Kings. The Imperial is a local institution - a friendly local pub and one of Sydney's most important gay and lesbian community venues. It has helped to raise over $1 million for charities including ACON and the Luncheon Club. Without the Imperial, these groups will be deprived of funds for essential services and campaigns.

Wonderful experience! On a rainy Wednesday night a night out at The Imperial was perfect. Food was fabulous although a little on the expensive side, but the lovey hostess Krystal Klee made it worth it! The new decor is stylish and very plush, gorgeous place to relax on a week day!
