Simple decor, wonderful atmosphere.
A few different variations of plum wine and sake are on offer (go with the Choya Original; it's incredible!).
The presentation of the food is average, but that ties in with affordable pricing. The Japanese curry is a good go to and the una don, full of wonderful eel, was also worth a nibble.
The only thing holding this place back is its average tempura. The vegetables are overcooked and soggy, and possibly cut a little thicker than your average tempura.
In summary, enjoyable food for those with a budget. But you do get what you pay for, so if you're looking for something a little nicer, you'd best go elsewhere.
