Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines (SIA) are enhancing their long-standing commercial partnership, offering a range of new benefits to travelers. From August 2025, customers can enjoy more convenience and better connectivity between Singapore and Indonesia, including joint fare products, expanded codeshare routes, and reciprocal lounge access.
The collaboration marks an important step in strengthening travel options between the two countries and offers more seamless travel experiences for passengers traveling on both airlines.
With the new partnership, passengers will have greater flexibility when booking flights between Singapore and Indonesian destinations such as Jakarta, Denpasar, and Surabaya.
Singapore Airlines will offer joint sales on fare products, enabling travelers to book flights operated by both carriers on a single itinerary. This gives passengers more options, convenience, and access to a broader range of fare products, enhancing the overall travel experience.
The enhanced offering will allow customers to choose from a variety of fare classes and find better pricing options, making travel more affordable and accessible for all.
The partnership will also see an expansion of the airlines’ codeshare arrangement. This expanded network will provide travelers with additional options and more destinations to choose from. Garuda Indonesia will now have access to four additional Singapore Airlines destinations, namely Bengaluru, Kolkata, Delhi in India, and Male in the Maldives. These destinations are key to both leisure and business travelers, offering a mix of popular cities and tourist hotspots.
Singapore Airlines customers will also benefit from this expanded codeshare, gaining access to Garuda Indonesia’s services between Denpasar and Labuan Bajo, Jakarta to Labuan Bajo, Lombok, and Manado. This expansion will make it easier for travelers to explore Indonesia’s most popular tourist destinations, such as the picturesque island of Bali, the cultural heart of Yogyakarta, and remote islands like Labuan Bajo, known for its proximity to the famous Komodo National Park. These newly added codeshare routes will provide more flexibility and convenience for travelers, whether they are visiting family, vacationing, or traveling for business.
Additionally, the existing codeshare arrangements will continue, which include flights operated by both airlines between Singapore and major Indonesian cities such as Denpasar, Jakarta, and Surabaya. Singapore Airlines customers will still have access to Garuda Indonesia flights to various destinations such as London Heathrow, the United Kingdom, and Mumbai, India, offering greater connectivity for travelers seeking routes to Europe and South Asia.
As part of this strengthened partnership, frequent flyers from both airlines will enjoy reciprocal lounge access, allowing members of the GarudaMiles and KrisFlyer programs to access a wider range of lounges at select airports. This benefit will apply to passengers traveling between Singapore and key Indonesian cities like Denpasar, Jakarta, and Surabaya. These lounges include the Garuda Executive Lounge and KrisFlyer Gold Lounges in Singapore, as well as the Business Class SilverKris lounges, ensuring that members have a premium experience while waiting for their flights.
This reciprocal lounge access provides added comfort for loyal customers traveling between Singapore and Indonesia, offering exclusive amenities such as private seating areas, premium food and beverages, and fast-track boarding services. For frequent travelers who prioritize comfort and convenience, this enhancement in the partnership will significantly improve their overall journey, providing a more relaxing and pleasant experience at the airport.
In addition to lounge access, GarudaMiles and KrisFlyer members can also earn and redeem miles on the newly expanded codeshare routes. This new feature will allow members to accumulate and use their frequent flyer miles across a broader range of flights, making the frequent flyer programs even more valuable. Whether traveling for business or leisure, passengers will now be able to enjoy the benefits of earning miles on a greater number of routes and use their miles for upgrades, free flights, or other rewards.
As demand for air travel between Singapore and Indonesia continues to grow, both airlines are increasing flight frequencies on key routes. In May 2025, Singapore Airlines raised its flight frequency between Singapore and Jakarta to nine daily services, up from eight. This increase reflects the growing demand for both business and leisure travel between the two cities, making it easier for passengers to find convenient flights at various times of the day.
Garuda Indonesia is also planning to boost its flight frequency between Jakarta and Singapore to seven daily flights, up from six, in the fourth quarter of 2025. The increase in frequency, which is subject to regulatory approval, will further enhance the connectivity between the two major cities. The increased frequency will also help to accommodate the rising number of travelers, ensuring that passengers have more flight options and greater flexibility when planning their trips. Both airlines have expressed plans to continue increasing frequencies as demand continues to rise, ensuring they are able to offer seamless travel experiences.
Beyond the benefits for travelers, the strengthened partnership between Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines is also expected to have a positive impact on the broader relationship between Singapore and Indonesia. With enhanced connectivity and improved travel services, the two airlines are supporting the growing flow of business, tourism, and cultural exchanges between the two countries. This partnership serves as a platform to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance regional connectivity, benefiting both countries’ economies.
By collaborating more closely, Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines are well-positioned to support the expanding demand for travel between Southeast Asia and the world. Their combined strengths allow them to offer passengers more travel options and greater flexibility, catering to the needs of both leisure and business travelers.
The expansion of this partnership is a clear indication of Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines’ shared commitment to delivering enhanced services and providing customers with the best possible travel experience. Whether it’s offering more flight options, greater flexibility in booking, or added benefits for frequent flyers, this collaboration sets a new benchmark for air travel in Southeast Asia.
The strengthened partnership between Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines ensures that travelers have more choices, improved connectivity, and a better overall experience when traveling between Singapore and Indonesia, and beyond.
