Marella Cruises, part of TUI’s UK cruise line, is launching a unique solar eclipse voyage aboard Marella Discovery 2 in the summer of 2026. On August 12th, 2026, guests will have the chance to witness the solar eclipse at sea from Palamos. The cruise will feature newly updated itineraries and expanded Cruise & Stay options throughout the fleet. Summer sailings will be available for booking starting October 17th, 2024.
The solar eclipse event will take place on the ‘Cosmopolitan Charms’ itinerary, departing on August 11th, 2026, from Palma, Majorca. The ship will sail through destinations like Palamos in Spain, Propriano in France, Civitavecchia (near Rome) in Italy, Salerno (for Pompeii and Amalfi), Palermo in Sicily, before returning to Palma, Majorca. This marks the first time Marella Cruises has designed a specific itinerary for eclipse enthusiasts to enjoy this extraordinary lunar event at sea.
Additionally, Marella Discovery 2 will debut a revamped ‘Jewels of the Mediterranean’ itinerary starting May 12th, 2026. This cruise will begin in Palma, Majorca, and visit locations such as Olbia in Sardinia, La Spezia (for Portofino and Florence) in Italy, Villefranche (for Monaco) in France, Toulon (for Cote D’Azur) in France, and Palamos in Spain before returning to Palma.
Marella Cruises is also celebrating its 30th anniversary with special sailings on May 7th, 2026, across its fleet, departing from Corfu, Limassol, Palma, and Dubrovnik.
In addition, Marella has expanded its Cruise & Stay offerings, now including 18 new hotels in Cyprus, Croatia, Corfu, and Spain, adding to the existing 112 hotel options. These packages will be available from 20 UK airports, offering travelers greater convenience and flexibility.
With all-inclusive service as standard, including tips and service charges, Marella Cruises ensures a seamless experience. Prices for the ‘Cosmopolitan Charms’ summer 2026 itinerary start at £1,533, and bookings will open on Thursday, October 17th, 2024.
